Like the directory, all local organizations that are centers for music, youth, and activism can become anchor organizations.

Organizations should offer the following opportunities:

• Focus on indie, hip hop, punk, avant garde, noise, hardcore, or pop music

And

• Produce shows, records, zines, videos or other DIY art, events and publications

And/or

• Provide access to music instruction and production opportunities to communities in need (e.g. nonprofits offering classes, studio time, etc for free or heavily subsidized)

Additionally, anchor orgs must be committed to:

• Work in partnership with young people 13-25

• Be a community resource (this means you do not have to be officially be a nonprofit, though some AMP programs/funding opportunities will be relegated to organizations with official status)
