What Your Contribution Makes Possible
Money given directly to AMP goes to support technological infrastructure, research and documentation, start up support, and efforts to bring more resources and visibility to the field.
Logistically, that means 1-3 staff people and contractors, stipends to local organizations doing programmatic work (more specifics on programs below), web development and hosting, ongoing research and archiving of our stories, and some traveling to present at independent media, music and youth development conferences. We regularly invite local members to join us in participating in all of the above.
2008 Programs:
Network Infrastructure
AMP builds tools to make youth music organizations stronger and more connected. The online directory and resource wiki are two such examples of how AMP is building easily accessible infrastructure to support the movement.
Leader Exchange Program
AMP funds grassroots organizations to travel, evaluate and share best practices through an open application process.
Research Archives
AMP makes available research reports, audio archives, and transcripts of interviews with founders of AMP organizations
AMP Manuafesto
One part narrative history, one part how-to, AMP’s book is the first comprehensive resource book for starting and fortifying youth music programs in the US
One-On-One Support
AMP was created to be a focused and efficient way to provide consulting and support to local leaders. We’ve compiled some of the best information from organizations having the most success and are happy to share it at any time.
