The “Let Everyone In” Campaign Kickoff!

$15,000. 30 days. At least one Bootleg Event.

In her intro to the AMP Manualfesto, Kimya Dawson says that her advice to people starting youth music programs and spaces is this:
“Be open minded. Don’t be judgmental. Let everyone in.

With releasing the AMP Manualfesto and launching our regional forums, that’s exactly what we intend to do.

We’re holding a 30-day campaign to reach our publishing goal of $15,000. With hundreds of organizations and 2 million people in our network, victory is within reach!

[Okay, okay, maybe some people have been getting a few too many election related emails lately. . . ]

Still, we would like to see your name in print as a person that made it possible to let everyone in on the knowledge about how to be successful and sustained youth music organization, without losing your self-determination--knowledge that has stayed isolated mostly in urban pockets, in the heads of extremely-busy organizers and promoters, in unpublished academic research papers, or professional trainings that don't speak our language.

From now, until September 30th, if you can make a donation, host a house party, a benefit show, or beatbox on the street corner to the tune of:

$50 - We’d like to put your name on the inside.

$75 - You'll get an acknowledgment, and a copy of the book and soundtrack

$125 - You'll get an acknowledgment and our very fancy special edition book and soundtrack

more than $125 - We'll say that you wrote the book. . . Just Kidding. . . Kind of.

You're into it, but you don't have the moeny? If you want to make a pledge or spread your donation out over time, just let us know!.

What your money goes to:

The hard costs of printing, mostly. We will be printing in the US, with our environment in mind. We are giving 1/3 of our copies away for free and selling the remaining ones to pay for our accompanying training programs and regional gatherings in 2008-09. That means your donation for the book doubles in value to support future programs.
